Where is ID.4 produced? ID.4 is the second pure electric vehicle based on the MEB platform after ID.3 and is currently being mass produced in the German state of Saxony. The design of the car follows the concept of ID.3 and features a fully enclosed front grill with a贯穿式灯带. The bumper design has an X-shaped appearance, enhancing its sporty feel. The tail of the car also features a贯穿式灯带, and the outline of the tail lights is in line with that of the headlights.
The power system of the ID.4 has two options: a rear-wheel drive version and a four-wheel drive version. The rear-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 150kW and a peak torque of 310Nm, while the four-wheel drive version has a combined power of 225kW and a combined torque of 450Nm.
In terms of range, the new car has a WLTP range of 311 miles (500 km) on a single charge. The production of ID.4 initially started in the German factory in Zwickau, and later by SAIC Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen respectively. In 2022, ID.4 will also be produced in the US at the Volkswagen factory in Tennessee. SAIC Volkswagen's Anting Factory has started producing vehicles based on the MEB platform, and FAW-Volkswagen's factory in Foshan is also planning to produce 30,000 MEB-based electric vehicles per year.
